A young woman suffering from stomach pains self-diagnosed herself with cancer using the internet. However, by the time she was diagnosed with the disease, the tumor on her ovary was the size of a melon! Until then, however, her doctors had said that the stomach pains were due to irritable bowel syndrome, which she supposedly suffered from.
But as the pain became unbearable, 22-year-old Sadie Rance turned to Internet to seek answers. She discovered that her symptoms might be due to ovarian cancer and after reporting her findings to her doctors, they discovered, in September 2013, that she did indeed have stage four ovarian cancer. Last January, doctors performed an exploratory surgery and discovered that they could not remove the tumor because it was attached to other organs. The cancer had spread to her intestines, liver, heart and lungs and she was told that she had only 2 years to live. And because there is always room for a miracle, the always positive and optimistic girl began to respond positively to chemotherapy, resulting in the tumor starting to shrink. The good news continued when her boyfriend proposed to her. The ceremony took place last month in her hometown of Kent, Britain.
