Samsung's upcoming foldable lineup includes its first new main form factor in years, as the ' Wide ' device enters as the second book-shaped device. In a new leak of dummy models, we get a better idea of just how different the Galaxy Z Fold 8 'Wide' will be .

The Galaxy Z Fold 8's "bigger sibling," believed to be called the 'Wide', is expected to be a major change for the series. Leaks have shown how the new form factor with a 4:3 internal display will differ from the existing design, featuring a much wider internal display and an external display similar to the original Google Pixel Fold. Meanwhile, the main Galaxy Z Fold 8 isn't expected to change much.
Samsung appears to be pursuing, or at least preempting, Apple's first foldable iPhone with this design.

Noted leaker Sonny Dickson has posted images of alleged dummy models of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 'Wide'. These show the new devices side by side, highlighting how radically different the 'Wide' is. It's much wider and shorter, with dimensions that don't seem much bigger than the Flip 8, especially considering the regular Fold is about the size of a typical smartphone.
Importantly, these models also show rings for the wireless charging hardware. Samsung doesn't seem interested in properly adopting the Qi2 magnets standard, which could further complicate compatibility.

Samsung is expected to launch these devices at the same time, and there is excitement about the 'Wide'. The new foldable Galaxy Z series is expected to be released on July 22.
