What it does is divide the entire Earth into 57 trillion tiny boxes measuring three square meters and assigns each of them a unique name consisting of three English words (for example, the Statue of Liberty has the code “planet.inches.most”). If you want to know the code of the area you are interested in, all you have to do is drag the pin to the exact spot.
What3Words, as reported by techgear.gr, provides an accuracy of three meters, while if you want to limit it to one meter, you will have to purchase a unique, more accurate code from the company. The new service is compatible with Google Maps and is available both in a Web version (here) and through applications for iOS and Android.
