Recently, Apple was fined $2 billion in the EU due to complaints from Spotify about its App Store.

Although the Digital Markets Regulation entered into force on November 1, 2022, certain companies designated by the European Commission had until March 2024 to comply with the new regulations.
Apple, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon and ByteDance are the six major companies that had extra time to make all the necessary changes to their business models to comply with the new set of rules and obligations.
Even after being fined, some of these companies are trying to delay the inevitable. Recently, Apple was fined $2 billion by the EU over complaints from Spotify about its App Store.
However, that didn’t seem to convince Apple that the EU was taking the Digital Market Regulation seriously, so the Cupertino decided to find another way to prevent Spotify from informing customers about the prices of its services, and to prevent customers from purchasing subscriptions directly from the service provider.

In an email to the European Commission obtained by The Verge, Spotify complains that Apple “neither acknowledged nor responded to Spotify’s submission,” thus preventing the music streaming company from updating the app for its users.
The Spotify app update submitted to Apple on March 5 has yet to be approved or rejected by the company. According to Spotify, Apple claims to review app reviews and submissions within 24 hours, so the update submitted nearly 10 days ago essentially means Apple is trying to circumvent the European Commission’s ruling. This isn’t the first time Apple has violated the Digital Markets Act. The company revoked Epic Games ’ developer license after CEO Tim Sweeney tweeted criticizing Apple.

Epic Games, however, obtained its developer license a few days later, after the case was reviewed by the European Commission.
