Pioneering Fords at Barret – Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale: From $300,000 Mustang Dark Horse to Kris Jenner's Thunderbird

- Kris Jenner sold her Fiesta Red 1956 Ford Thunderbird at auction for $49,500.
The convertible was a Christmas gift from the businesswoman who became known as the mother of the Kardashian family, according to auction house Barrett-Jackson.
However, the connection to the famous personality did not affect the sale price, as it was sold at market value, according to classic car consultant Jonathan Klinger.

The Thunderbird wasn't the only high-profile Ford car to come up for auction recently at the Scottsdale, Arizona Auction.
- Ford Motor Co. donated the first 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse VIN 001 with a six-speed manual transmission, with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit JDRF. The car, which features a blue exterior and black interior, sold for $300,000.
- A 1968 Continuation Shelby GT350 convertible sold for $100,000 to fund scholarships for students attending the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at Northeast Texas Community College.
- Also, a 1965 Shelby GT350 sold for $522,500 and two vintage Mustang Boss 429s, a 1969 in black and a 1970 in Grabber green, sold for $363,000 and $286,000 respectively.
These prices are indicative of the economy, with Craig Jackson, CEO of Barrett-Jackson, saying that the classic car market remains healthy and dynamic, although some question its stability.
