Firefox is almost the only browser that has remained that does not rely on Google’s Chromium rendering engine, but unfortunately, its revenue is mainly based on Google paying it to be the default out‑of‑frame search engine — it’s not a good situation. Mozilla is working hard to diversify its revenue with paid services such as VPN and Pocket, but the company recently also partnered with Disney to promote its latest animated movie, “Turning Red”, right on your new tab page and as part of your desktop browser theme. Firefox 98 for Android is released today with a similar option.

The latest version of Firefox gives you access to a total of five wallpapers for your new tab, three of which feature abstract colors and two of which bring cute scenes from the aforementioned Disney title to your browser. You can shuffle through the selection by clicking the Firefox logo or by clicking the three-dot menu next to the address bar, then Customize homepage. To be clear, using these wallpapers is completely optional, and if you don't change any of your settings or click that Firefox logo, you'll never see any of the wallpapers or offers, so it's pretty discreet in its current state.

Mozilla says that these wallpapers are available only to US users, and in the coming months they are expected to be released internationally.
Additionally, Firefox 98 allows you to delete cookies and site data for individual domains, preventing you from losing your login state on other sites when you simply want to delete your data from a single domain. It also includes some bug fixes. Firefox 98 will no longer display duplicate entries in your browsing history and the performance of the Logins page has improved. When using dark mode, tab tiles now have a dark border instead of a light-colored one, which blends much better with the rest of the theme.

In other news, Firefox for iOS also gained the option to move the address bar to the top or bottom based on your preference. And if you're a Firefox Focus user, you can now enable the HTTPS-only mode that previously used Firefox proper, preventing any websites with the unencrypted HTTP standard from appearing on your phone.
Firefox 98 for Android is now released on the Play Store.
