Facebook has removed a video interview with former US President Donald Trump, who remains blocked from the platform. The social media giant confirmed the move on March 31, citing Trump's indefinite ban from the platform. The video was shared by Trump's daughter-in-law. Specifically, Lara Trump, who recently joined Fox News, wanted to promote an interview with Trump for her online show "The Right View" with posts on Instagram on March 31.
She then posted a screenshot of an email she received from Facebook informing her that her video of the Trump interview had been removed, with the company citing the ban it has imposed on the former US president's accounts.

Donald Trump has been blocked from Facebook and Instagram indefinitely for inciting violence following the January 6th incidents by his supporters at the US Capitol. The email Lara Trump received stated the following: “Based on the ban we have imposed on Donald Trump’s accounts on Facebook and Instagram, any content posted featuring Donald Trump will be removed and will result in further restrictions on his accounts.”

In January, after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, Twitter suspended and then deleted the Republican's account from its platform. It also removed numerous accounts of extremists who supported the former president, including 70,000 associated with the "QAnon".

The decision to ban Trump angered many of his supporters and online freedom advocates, who saw the move as a sign of social media's excessive power. However, that didn't stop Twitter from seeing its user base grow significantly in January.
