Uber President Jeff Jones Resigns!

Jeff Jones, Uber President announced his resignation from the company due to many corporate culture issues.

Jones, who was hired about seven months ago, is a marketing expert and was expected to help the company to «soften» its image after the many scandals that have arisen for the company regarding its questionable corporate culture, full sexism and prejudice.

¨I joined Uber because of its mission and the challenge to build global capabilities that would help the company mature and thrive in the long term. It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and leadership approach that guided me in my career are consistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber, and I can no longer continue as President of the company¨ said Jones to Reuters.

His position is currently in doubt, especially since Uber earlier this month began looking for a new CEO to help run the company. Jones also served as COO.

Another Uber exec, Brian McClendon, vice president of maps and business platform, also announced that he plans to leave the company at the end of the month to engage in politics. However, he will remain as a consultant at Uber.

They are just the latest in a long list of execs who have decided to leave the company. Amit Singhal, an engineering executive, left the company last month over a sexual harassment allegation dating back to his time at Google. Ed Baker, vice president of product and development, and Charlie Miller, a security researcher, also left Uber earlier this month.

Uber became known to have a rather toxic culture, which has driven many to leave both high‑ranking executives and employees. Scandals seem to follow the company left and right and there are no signs that this is going to change substantially and soon.
