MMD, the brand license partner of Philips Screens, presents a range of innovations for professionals and home users at the IFA 2016 exhibition from September 2-7 in Berlin.
At Philips' booth, Hall 22, visitors will enjoy, among other things, UltraColor technology with an expanded color gamut integrated into the thinnest screen on the market, the newest 40‑inch 4K curved screen, as well as screens with a pop‑up webcam that appear when needed.
Curved screens – and the largest curved 4K screen on the market
Visitors will enjoy at the Philips booth the 40‑inch Brilliance Curved screen, the largest 4K curved screen on the market, with fantastic focus.
This particular screen, available within the last quarter of 2016, embraces the line of sight creating more personal space and improving focus. As users sit very close to their computer screen, the curved screen creates a truly immersive work experience. 
The viewing distances from the edges and the center of the screen are equal – therefore users do not need to turn their heads to see the edges of the screen, and can enjoy excellent image quality. The edge-to-edge glass and the extremely narrow frame enhance the flawless appearance of the screen.

The 40-inch 4K model is not the only curved monitor to be presented at the show: IFA visitors can also admire the upcoming 34-inch X7 Frameless 21:9 curved monitor. The ultra-slim display with adjustable height, dazzling Quad HD resolution and integrated audio is due to be released later this year.
UltraColor for natural images
The latest UltraColor displays launch color reproduction to new heights, creating more accurate colors in home applications, thereby satisfying users. UltraColor, supporting a broader color gamut – 85-95% of the NTSC gamut, depending on the specific model, in contrast to the classic 72%– expands the range of colors perceived on the screen, thus creating more natural images with richer and more vibrant greens, reds, and blues.
With precise color reproduction, UltraColor screens make online shopping easier as we can now see the actual color of the product before even completing the purchase. UltraColor screens also give confidence to ambitious video creators, designers and photographers that the colors on their screen are very close to reality.
Stefan Sommer explains: “In contrast to the improvement achieved “tinkering” with software settings to correct the color balance, UltraColor intervenes in the screen’s chemistry and makes pioneering adjustments to the composition of the color chips”.
The innovative technology appears in a range of displays presented at IFA, including the new E-Line displays that were released this summer, as well as the thinnest displays on the market – C7 displays expected within the last quarter of 2016. At IFA, the 24‑inch Ultra Slim FHD model will also be presented.
Despite the depth of 5.2k, this model reproduces 90% of the NTSC color gamut, features Flicker-free technology, a wide viewing angle, and a sleek frameless design.
Philips Pop-up webcam that makes life harder for camera hackers
Visitors seeking greater security in the workplace will be able to see the first Philips screen with pop-up webcam. The brand‑new 27‑inch screen features a webcam that appears when needed and hides within the frame of the screen the rest of the time, preventing potential hackers from “breaching» unwantedly. This particular screen is immediately available on the market.
