ESET today announced the availability of ESET Virtualization Security , an all-new agentless solution for VMware vShield, and the new version of ESET Remote Administrator . Specifically designed for the needs of enterprises, when combined, the two solutions can offer IT administrators the ability to even better manage and protect systems, by leveraging award-winning protection with proven manageability.
According to Gartner’s 2015 Magic Quadrant, “approximately 75% of x86 servers are virtualized.” Virtualization offers countless benefits to businesses, but without adequate protection for virtual systems, it can be more dangerous than it seems. ESET Virtualization Security is designed to protect sensitive data and solve key problems that companies face in virtual environments, such as unprotected virtual servers, the need for multiple protection applications, potential performance impacts, and the complex licensing process.
ESET Virtualization Security, which will be available globally on January 21, is compatible with VMware vSphere 5.0+ with vCloud Networking and Security installed, and works with ESET’s next-generation enterprise solutions and the web-based ESET Remote Administrator. To manage and deploy ESET Virtualization Security on a network, administrators only need to install the ESET Virtualization Security Appliance, with no additional software required on virtual machines, and connect it to ESET Remote Administrator. This will allow remote management of ESET Virtualization Security and execution of tasks on virtual machines, which have agentless protection.
The company also announced the availability of the new version of ESET Remote Administrator with features such as iOS Mobile Device Management, which allows users to fully leverage the benefits of BYOD. Administrators can now easily configure the security settings of iOS devices so that they are protected alongside other devices on their corporate network.
