Microsoft is continuing its Office Insider program with an update to the mobile app that's available for PCs and mobile devices running Windows 10.
The new version is 17.7167 and was released yesterday, bringing a few improvements to the built-in apps, including Excel and OneNote. There's nothing particularly exciting about this new version, but if you use Office on a regular basis, you'll definitely like these improvements.
First and foremost, Excel Mobile comes with the option to format cells as special data types. This feature is only available in the US version of Office.
As for OneNote, Microsoft has introduced new math tools, allowing you to write an equation and the app will help you solve it step by step, as if it were your teacher. Additionally, the new version includes editable ink in OneNote, and you can adjust the thickness and color even when the ink has already dried.
These updates are only available to Insiders, but depending on the feedback the company receives from testers, it will also be available to retail users very soon.
Microsoft says that it is extremely important to send updates for bugs and crashes that users are facing so that they can be fixed before the next version. So, if you have these apps installed, use the Feedback feature to help improve the apps.
