If you thought you'd seen every possible accessory designed for Pokémon Go, the popular augmented reality game, think again. Because now, we present to you: Pokémon Go-enabled sneakers!
The idea, which is still just an idea at this stage, was created by startup Vixole, a company based in New York that is currently working on creating "smart shoes" with built-in LED displays and sensors.
On the Vixole company website, the smart sneakers are described as being controlled by a mobile app, which will allow you to control the images displayed on a panel located on the back of the shoes.
Additionally, the shoes will have built-in sensors that will deliver location-related notifications as well as other app features.
The manufacturers also claim that the sneakers will be water-resistant and will also have the ability to be recharged via a wireless charging station, with a single charge providing eight hours of operation.
Based on these features, it's easy to see how a Pokémon Go version of these shoes could work to help a user play the game with their feet as the main character. But as we mentioned earlier, the in-game version is just a concept at this point.
The company plans to launch its very real campaign for the smart sneakers on Kickstarter in September.
