Four Greeks reached the semi-finals of the Imagine Cup competition and are about to compete for the grand final of Microsoft's competition!
Διάκριση με παγκόσμια ακτινοβολία πέτυχαν οι 4 Έλληνες μαθητές σε διαγωνισμό που διεξάγεται υπό την αιγίδα της Microsoft και συμμετέχουν πάνω από 17o διαγωνιζόμενοι από 76 χώρες σε όλο τον κόσμο,. Η κριτική επιτροπή επέλεξε συνολικά 33 ομάδες, συμπεριλαμβανομένου της ελληνικής ομάδας που πρόκειται να διαγωνιστούν στον μεγάλο τελικό.
The Greek team called “Genesis” is made up of Greek students who are involved in the field of electronic games. The team from Greece, along with the other participants, will travel to Seattle, USA, to the headquarters of Microsoft from July 29 to August 2, to compete with the other participants in the grand final. The Genesis will be called upon to face the other nine teams in the “Electronic Games Software Development”. The Greek Genesis team has already won a corresponding global competition regarding the Visual Studio development platform.
This year's judging panel will include Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, Hadi Partovi, founder of the non-profit educational foundation Code.org , and Erik Martin, CEO of Reddit.com. The Imagine Cup includes three categories: Games, Globality, and Innovation.
The Imagine Cup competition started by Microsoft in 2003, to encourage young people to develop innovative applications, and to claim international recognition. The prize for the grand winners of the final will exceed $200,000. The Imagine Cup is very attractive to young people worldwide, with over 1.65 million people having submitted proposals so far. With over 250,000 participants from around the world in 2013, the competition aims to showcase the creativity of students and young people in general.
