The Greek-Chinese Committee developed a plan of joint actions
Following the implementation of transnational public-private partnership projects, the two sides decided to focus more dynamically on strengthening development actions, which will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, reducing the migratory flow of highly qualified young people and revitalizing the labor market.
In this context, according to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), last Friday the joint Greek-Chinese Committee met at the National Observatory of Athens with the participation of the Vice Minister of Science and Technology of China, Dr. Cao Jianlin, the Secretary General of Research and Technology Dr. Christos Vasilakos and delegations of high-ranking government officials from China and the GSRT.
The Joint Committee has formulated a draft protocol, which for the first time lays the foundations for the creation of substantial synergies between Greek and Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises, promoting the development of joint actions aimed at increasing their competitiveness and expanding into new markets. The plan is expected to be signed at the end of the week during the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister to Athens.
Equally high expectations for the promotion of innovation are created by the tripartite agreement reached last Saturday between Mr. Vasilakos, Chinese Vice Minister Cao Jianlin and the Governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, to jointly support the establishment of a science and technology park in the region.
The agreement aims to create a pioneering organizational structure, which will host Greek and Chinese companies, as well as other research and technology bodies, thus creating favorable conditions for cooperation, interaction, technology transfer and know-how. The goal is the development of innovative products and services of high added value, the commercial exploitation of research results, the creation of new jobs and local development.
