OnHub: Google is trying to find new ways to get into your home, and this time it seems to have succeeded with a $199 Wi-Fi router.OnHub 1

The company today introduced the OnHub, a router for all your home connectivity needs.

Google says that OnHub has a number of new features to make it powerful and accessible to the average user, as reported by TNW.Marquee_productshotX2

For example, the router uses “smart software to find the best Wi-Fi connection.”

It can also prioritize individual devices to ensure they have a faster connection when needed. The device also features 13 antennas in a circular arrangement and supports a maximum speed of 1900 Mbps.

This accessibility is also reflected in the device's interface. From the start, Google provides you with a very simple setup process, notifying you of any network issues and how to fix them.

You can also see the devices connected to the network with a simple visual representation, and you can even use the app to see who is connected while you are away from home, or have someone to help you remotely.

OnHub is future-proof with Bluetooth Smart Ready, 802.15.3 connectivity, and Weave, a new Google protocol for the Internet of Things. On Hub

It includes 4GB of storage for updates and new features, and a light with dimmer.

Google says that the OnHub is built to be seen, not hidden in a corner of the house.

Pre -orders for the OnHub are open , and Google says it will begin shipping “in the coming weeks.”
