OS X comes with a nearly nonexistent collection of games. In fact, the only game it has is a chess game that hasn't been updated in a decade, that's all.
However, did you know that there's a hidden game built right into the operating system's core? Don't expect something on the level of Infinity Blade or even Wolfenstein 3D, it's a bit more primitive. It's a text adventure.
It's called Dunnet, it's written by Ron Schnell , and it's not exclusive to OS X.
It exists in all modern versions of UNIX, on which OS X is of course based. The game is quite surreal, because instead of wandering around a simulation of the real world, real people wander around inside a UNIX system.
To play the game, open the Terminal application and type the following:
emacs -batch -l dunnet
The game will start and you will find yourself at a dead end on a dirt road.
For those of you who have never played a text adventure before, it's quite easy and all you have to do is give commands, e.g. "get shovel" and see the results they produce, however, because the game is in English, some good knowledge of the language is required.
